(11-2006) Musical glasses from England (only one of three still surviving). A musical instrument consisting of a series of crystal glasses made up of varying amount of water. It is played by rubbing a finger around the rim. The instrument's popularity did not last far beyond the 18th century, partially because of a strange rumor that using the instrument caused both musicians and their listeners to go insane. |
