This is an original Trans-Mississippi Louisiana CSA Cavalry Uniform on
display at the Mansfield Battlefield Museum. Note this is labeled as the
4th or 7th Louisiana Regiment, but the trousers have a blue stripe, not
the expected yellow stripe for cavalry. A note of explanation for the
blue trouser stripe is included in the display |

Texas troops at Mansfield. The monument is inscribed "LaFayette of the
South" |

This monument at Mansfield to Col James H. Beard of the Louisiana
Consolidated Crescent Regiment is a memorial to a local hero who died at
this battlefield. His personal effects are on display in the museum,
including the baby shoes he carried for his son |
