This photo was taken on May 29, 2010 of the monument to Raphael Semmes who served as Captain of the CSS Alabama. The monument is one block from the Mobile City Visitor Center at Fort Conde. The Monument is in the middle of Church Street adjacent to the intersection of Church and Royal Streets. Note the traffic passing in opposite directions of the island in the street where the monument is located
