Endview Plantation was used as a camp of instruction for Company "H" 32 Virginia Volunteer Infantry CSA, a Union hospital after the May 5, 1862 Battle of Williamsburg, Virginia, and a barracks for Union troops. Today it is a museum with a focus on living history. There are modern redoubts and entrenchments on site and even a Summer Civil War Camp for kids. No battles were fought here but there are big reenactments

The site was popular during The War Between The States as there is a natural spring that provides cool fresh water. This excellent water must have been a big draw for the troops

Photographs were not permitted inside the house. On the mantle of the second floor fire place is graffiti from the 1st New York Mounted Infantry, who apparently were housed at Endview

This is a modern view of Endview Plantation taken June 14, 2007. Contrast this photo with the photo used on the interpretive marker to see how little this house has changed over the years
