The West Point Bryan Public Library sits on the exact site of Nathan Bedford Forrest's West Point Headquarters site after he relocated his headquarters from Verona, Mississippi to West Point in 1864. Forrest's men set up camp on the land now occupied by homes that run down the street to the right of the Library in this scene. A family member once found a Confederate button while raking the grass in his backyard at one of these homes
