A Field Hospital of the 3rd and 5th Corps. General Stephen Weed was taken to this house where he survived for an hour or two. Doctor John Billings, a regular army surgeon with the 5th Corps wrote in his official report: “…the wounded began to pour in. I performed a large number of operations … received and fed 750 wounded and worked all night without cessation”
